A new song by Christiana Little, “The Tragic Ballad of a Turkey and her Tom,” will debut at STUFFED!, a Thanksgiving-themed variety show at the People’s Improv Theatre, hosted by Jess Miller, on Monday Nov. 25 at 10pm. The song is composed for two sopranos, alto, and turkey. Singers for the occasion: Meagan Brus, Megan Pachecano, and the composer. Soprano Lauren Frankovich plays the turkey. July 29, 2013 – Christiana Little sang Bill Nelson (lyrics) & Will Aronson‘s (music) song “Potato” at the D-Lounge at the Daryl Roth Theatre, as part of New York Theatre Barn‘s presentation of “THE LYRICS OF BILL NELSON.” Here’s the video evidence.
Christiana Little joins the cast of “Mexican Hayride,” by Cole Porter, Musicals Tonight‘s 76th revival. Christiana plays Lydia, a dippy American tourist traveling south of the border for the first time, who also happens to sing a lot of high notes.

On May 21, Christiana Little will sing the music of Janine McGuire at the Laurie Beechman theatre. Composer/lyricist Janine McGuire will present an evening of rock-influenced musical theatre songs as well as several brand new compositions created in collaboration with fellow writers in the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. Christiana will be joined onstage by cast members of Newsies, Bring it On, Hands on a Hardbody, Rent, Jersey Boys and more.

Christiana Little will debut a new song, “Something Very Small,” with collaborator Rick Bassett at SONGS WE WROTE, an informal evening of words and music by members of the 2012/2013 BMI First Year Class. Composer Rick will play piano, and lyricist Christiana will sing. Christiana will also perform the works of several other colleagues as well, including an excerpt of Janine McGuire‘s musical based on the life of Margaret Sanger – a role that Christiana previous played in a workshop performance at Primary Stages/ESPA. Songs from Christiana’s celebrated BMI peers, including Jamie Cowperthwait, Robert John Ford, Justin Friello, Cleo Handler, Christine Toy Johnson, Brian Katona, Laura Kleinbaum, Jake Lloyd, Michael Mott, Bill Nelson, Nicky Phillips, Bradford Proctor, Adam Sakiyama, Zoe Samuel, Lucas Syed, Pamela Weiler Grayson, Ben Wexler and Sarah Ruhl will also be featured.

Starting on February 24, Christiana Little will be hosting the LIVE simulcasts of the Philadelphia Orchestra, broadcast live from Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center into cinemas around the world. Christiana joins acclaimed concert film director Pierre Lamoureux in creating a magical evening for classical music lovers. She will have the honor of interviewing – live, on-camera – artists such as conductors Yannick Nezet-Seguin and Simon Rattle, violinist Hilary Hahn, soprano Barbara Hannigan, and pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet.

Christiana Little joins the cast of SMASHED: The Carrie Nation Story, which opens in April at the HERE Arts Center Dorothy B. Theatre, part of the Roadworks Series, presented by Opera on Tap. SMASHED is an original opera by James Berry and Timothy Braun, loosely based on the life of Carrie Nation, self-proclaimed “God’s bulldog” and ardent (if not downright violent) temperance movement activist. Christiana plays the role of Anne, a total lush.
Opera on Tap, which mixes high art and craft beers, has been called “raucous and sublime” by the NY Sun. Buy tickets here.

Christiana Little, lyricist, has been invited to join the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. An innovative program at its inception, the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop continues to flourish in its fiftieth year, and is considered to be the foremost training ground for new writing voices, nurturing shows like A Chorus Line, Little Shop of Horrors, Nine, Once On This Island, Ragtime, Avenue Q, Next To Normal, and The Book of Mormon. The Workshop received a special Tony Award in 2007, and a Drama Desk Award in 2006. Christiana is honored to join this esteemed program.

What He Did For Love, a tribute concert to the late, Tony-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch, will be presented at DROM in Manhattan Oct. 29, featuring Broadway and National Tour performers, including Alex Brightman (Wicked), Jennifer Noble (Ghost) and Christiana Little. The concert will feature songs from and stories about A Chorus Line, Smile!, The Goodybe Girl, They’re Playing Our Song, The Sweet Smell Of Success, The Champ, The Spy Who Loved Me, and more.
Created and produced by Andrey Lyle Patino, the evening will feature musical direction by Kristen Lee Rosenfeld. Jennifer Ashley Tepper (If It Only Runs a Minute) will host.
Doors will open at 7 PM.
