THE CHARM by Christiana Little & David Shenton in SoundBites Festival on Dec. 9, 2013
“THE CHARM,” a ten-minute musical by Christiana Little (book/lyrics) and David Shenton (music) has been selected as a finalist for the first-ever SoundBites Festival, part of Theatre Now New York.
“The Charm” is about a pair a newlyweds, fresh from a fairy tale wedding, who are struck by a very modern fear: how will they know that they will always love each other? With the help of a wizard, an international road trip, and one very special pair of underwear, the couple finds true happiness where they least expect it. The piece was developed by Little & Shenton in the BMI Workshop, and stars Christiana Little as the princess, Lotte Lenya award-winning tenor James Benjamin Rodgers as her prince, Ryan Kinsella as the Wizard, and John Jeffords and Erin Shields as an assortment of whimsical characters. Donald Garverick (Show Choir! The Musical) directs, with music direction by Erik James.
